Your pouch was made in Jaipur, the Pink City, using repurposed fabric that would otherwise have been discarded. The outer fabric is vintage-style patterned velvet, silky to the touch. Velvet is synonymous with luxury and royalty in India, where it has been produced since medieval times. During the time of the Mughal Empire, velvet was ubiquitous, lining the royal court from floor to ceiling and its inhabitants from head to toe.
The inner-lining of your pouch features deep bottle-blue velvet. Your pouch has been embellished with a handmade silk tassel and a citrine gemstone. Citrine, known as “the light-maker”, energizes us at every level, flooding us with joy, love, and light. The stone not only stimulates the brain, promoting concentration and creativity, but also heals heavy energies such as those associated with depression, fear, and phobia. It is an emotionally balancing stone.
