Your clutch was made in Jaipur, the Pink City, from carefully selected elements. The outer fabric is a pink and gold cotton dhurrie—a chunky, flat-woven rug that is made on a traditional handloom by skilled artisans. The style of dhurrie used in your clutch is unique to Rajasthan, where dhurrie weaving can be found in villages throughout the state. Dhurrie rugs are used for many different purposes in India and are distinguished by their elegant and striking symmetrical motifs.
The beautifully colored inner-lining of your clutch, chosen for its striking contrast with the outer fabric, was woodblock-printed by hand using an ancient technique that originated in India circa 3,000 BCE. Your clutch has been embellished with a handmade silk tassel and a larimar gemstone. Larimar is a serene and cooling crystal that relieves stress and anxiety and promotes groundedness. It is the perfect stone for those seeking the courage to communicate openly and honestly with others.
