Your clutch was made in Jaipur, the Pink City, from carefully selected elements. The outer fabric is a lavender and gold cotton dhurrie—a chunky, flat-woven rug that is made on a traditional handloom by skilled artisans. The style of dhurrie used in your clutch is unique to Rajasthan, where dhurrie weaving can be found in villages throughout the state. Dhurrie rugs are used for many different purposes in India and are distinguished by their elegant and striking symmetrical motifs.
The beautifully colored inner-lining of your clutch, chosen for its striking contrast with the outer fabric, features a banana-leaf design printed on 100% cotton. Your clutch has been embellished with a handmade silk tassel and a turquoise gemstone. Turquoise has for centuries been used for protection as it dispels negative energy and protects us from outside influences. It is a purification stone that balances and aligns our chakras thereby instilling inner calm and peace.
