Jaipur, known as the Pink City, has a rich stone-cutting tradition that goes back to the 18th century, when the founder of the city, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, invited the best jewelers and stone-cutters from across India to Jaipur to embellish the new metropolis. Today, the city’s gemstone and jewelry-making industries remain world-renowned.
Green onyx is a symbol of restfulness and repose. It brings us relief from our daily worries and emotional burdens, promoting mental health and inner serenity. Cat’s eye, or chrysoberyl, is a grounding stone whose energy is powerfully uplifting. It brings us greater joy and optimism, helping us build a stronger sense of purpose, and is also believed to ward off evil. Rudraksha beads have their roots in Hindu mythology and have been used and worn in India as prayer beads for millennia. The beads have a special vibration that calms the central nervous system and quietens the mind, facilitating mindfulness and prayer.

In a small village, just outside of Jaipur, we walked into a small family workshop, where for centuries, the ancient craft of traditional handloom weaving has been passed down from father to son. The unique and colorful cushions, crafted entirely by hand, caught our eyes and our hearts.
Thread by thread, knot by knot, the sounds, smell and energy of the workshop swirled into an energy we had never felt before.
Time flew by and we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave. The colorful yarns braided and blended in our life story, creating beautiful bonds of enchanted traditions. That was when we realized, this story is bigger than us. That we needed to bring these stories and their magic back home and share them with a wider community.
The items we collect at NAMA tell the story of a distant land, its people and their exceptional craftsmanship. We invite you to share in this story, our journey and memories.
