Handwoven burnt orange and silver 100% cotton dhurrie clutch, with hand-stitched vintage silk kantha gudri lining, embellished with a silk tassel and an iolite gemstone.

Your clutch was made in Jaipur, the Pink City, from carefully selected elements. The outer fabric is a burnt orange and silver cotton dhurrie—a chunky, flat-woven rug that is made on a traditional handloom by skilled artisans. The style of dhurrie used in your clutch is unique to Rajasthan, where dhurrie weaving can be found in villages throughout the state. Dhurrie rugs are used for many different purposes in India and are distinguished by their elegant and striking symmetrical motifs.

The inner-lining of your clutch, chosen for its striking contrast with the outer fabric, is repurposed fabric from a kantha gudri quilt. Kantha gudri quilts are hand-stitched together by women in the eastern part of India, traditionally using old saris and discarded clothing scraps. Your clutch has been embellished with a handmade silk tassel and an iolite gemstone. Iolite, a “vision stone”, is notable for its soft energy and is recommended for those feeling disorientated or disillusioned. By clearing our thoughts, stirring our imagination, and unlocking our intuition, it helps us express our truest self, free from external constraints.
