Your clutch was made in Jaipur, the Pink City, from carefully selected elements. The outer fabric is a beige and gold cotton dhurrie—a chunky, flat-woven rug that is made on a traditional handloom by skilled artisans. The style of dhurrie used in your clutch is unique to Rajasthan, where dhurrie weaving can be found in villages throughout the state. Dhurrie rugs are used for many different purposes in India and are distinguished by their elegant and striking symmetrical motifs.
The beautiful plum-colored inner-lining of your clutch, chosen for its striking contrast with the outer fabric, is repurposed fabric from a vintage embroidered Rajasthani ghagra choli (traditional full-length skirt). Your clutch has been embellished with a handmade silk tassel and an iolite gemstone. Iolite, known as a “vision stone”, is notable for its soft energy and is recommended for those feeling disorientated or disillusioned. By clearing our thoughts, stirring our imagination, and unlocking our intuition, it helps us express our truest self, free from external constraints.

In a small village, just outside of Jaipur, we walked into a small family workshop, where for centuries, the ancient craft of traditional handloom weaving has been passed down from father to son. The unique and colorful cushions, crafted entirely by hand, caught our eyes and our hearts.
Thread by thread, knot by knot, the sounds, smell and energy of the workshop swirled into an energy we had never felt before.
Time flew by and we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave. The colorful yarns braided and blended in our life story, creating beautiful bonds of enchanted traditions. That was when we realized, this story is bigger than us. That we needed to bring these stories and their magic back home and share them with a wider community.
The items we collect at NAMA tell the story of a distant land, its people and their exceptional craftsmanship. We invite you to share in this story, our journey and memories.
