Handwoven black and silver 100% cotton dhurrie clutch, with hand-stitched cotton kantha gudri lining, embellished with a silk tassel and chryoprase gemstones.


Your clutch was made in Jaipur, the Pink City, from carefully selected elements. The outer fabric is a black and silver cotton dhurrie—a chunky, flat-woven rug that is made on a traditional handloom by skilled artisans. The style of dhurrie used in your clutch is unique to Rajasthan, where dhurrie weaving can be found in villages throughout the state. Dhurrie rugs are used for many different purposes in India and are distinguished by their elegant and striking symmetrical motifs.

The beautifully colored inner-lining of your clutch, chosen for its striking contrast with the outer fabric, is repurposed fabric from a kantha gudri quilt. Kantha gudri quilts are hand-stitched together by women in the eastern part of India, traditionally using old saris and discarded clothing scraps. Your clutch has been embellished with a handmade silk tassel and a chrysoprase gemstone. Chrysoprase balances yin and yang energy and nourishes hope, creativity, and joy. A strong detoxifying stone, it is excellent for relaxation and a good night’s sleep.
